Coach Napier

Billy Napier was named the 29th head coach of the University of Florida Gators football team on November 28th, 2021. Napier has more than fifteen years of coaching experience with football powerhouse schools such as Alabama and Clemson. Prior to coming to the Gator Nation, Napier was the head football coach at Louisiana-Lafayette from 2018 to 2021. While at Louisiana-Lafayette, Napier was a two-time winner of the Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year award.

Napier attended Furman University where he was a four-year letter winner and two-time All-Southern Conference selection as the school’s starting quarterback. In his senior year, Napier was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, given annually to the nation's most outstanding FCS offensive player. His signature phrase “Scared money don’t make money” has endeared him to Gator fans.
